Claudine Sear (Bags of Time) is a designer from West Cornwall. Working from her home studio she creates functional, beautiful, bespoke handbags and purses, using pre-loved leather and recycled fabrics. Her styles range from simple clutch purses to large slouch bags.
Her inspiration and style comes from growing up in a richly creative environment, being surrounded by family and friends who made-do and mended through necessity. Her time as a child was spent playing on beaches and living on the rugged moors in the west of Cornwall, these have been her primary influences when designing her pieces. The colours and textures that she is drawn to reflect this!
Repurposing a jacket or piece of clothing (or leather furniture for that matter) into a bag or accessory gives it a second life and in turn an emotional tie far greater than any shop bought item. Many people have leather pieces hidden somewhere in the house, no longer used, out of fashion perhaps, these are the pieces that usually end up in landfill, my aim is to stop this from happening and recreate new from old!
She designs, sources and creates every piece personally and because of this is able to make each bag as a unique creation.
