Our bins are bulging, and landfill is choking our planet
Upcycle Street aims to reduce waste by offering Environmentally friendly shopping
In this quirky little Street, the shops are filled with Recycled Gifts, Green Homewares and Eco Art from independent sellers.
Many of our imaginative makers recycle Waste materials or upcycle unwanted items otherwise destined for the Bin.
Others help clear our beaches by collecting waste washed up and transform it into beautiful gifts.
Using what is already here has never been so important.
Have fun wandering round our shops and meeting the makers!
The post office is where we all connect, we would love to hear from you.
In the Gift shop you will find gifts and everyday items made from recycled materials. Many products have a past life or a story to tell, or some are just sourced from ethical means that help to stop contribute to our bins and landfill. Either way all products are sold from a community of "Bin thinkers’ wanting to avoid adding even more waste to the pile.
Every street needs a pit stop for coffee and cake. Don't expect to see any fast-food chains here, Slow Food always tastes better, so let's support the small businesses making alternatives with less plastic packaging and better ethical values.
What goes into the food is just as important as what is 'not' left behind after.
The Art Gallery is where you can browse and find out about those creative minds with their captivating Art using washed up waste or thrown away junk, giving a new lease of life to something old in a hugely unique way.
Good news takes a front seat here. People who ‘think’ of others and the world we live in (wherever that may be) are always welcome in this street. Positive people lift us up so let's talk about them for all to see.
The Community Hub is your pit stop of positivity! A place to take break from the shops and catch up with finding out about good things happening and the good people doing them.
Our homes and gardens are our sanctuary. In this shop you will find every day, useful or just 'nice to look at' things that keep our homes just the way we like them, whilst being kinder to the home we all share together, Earth!
Why Things need to be better…
8 – 12 million tonnes of plastic enter the ocean annually. 80% washes and blows in from the land and out of the 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic that has been produced since the 1950s, 9% has been recycled, 12% has been burnt and 79% is in the environment as landfill or litter.. YUK!
