Studio Lowen was created by Lisa Claire Stewart, a designer maker from Cornwall. Lisa spent most of her creative career working as a in-house designer before taking the plunge to go freelance. It was while freelancing that she created the first ever Studio Lowen business product, the humble business card holder in Celestial Gaze.
The name Studio Lowen came about well before the first product, it was when she and her husband Sam were building the studio in the garden. Lisa’s happy place, happy in Cornish is “Lowen”, and so Studio Lowen translates as Studio Happy or Joy. The idea behind the brand is every piece is created with happiness and joy, but should also bring you or your loved one joy through the product’s function and aesthetic.
Lisa lives a couple of miles from the Cornish coastline with her husband Sam, sock mad spaniel Soot and cuddly Ginger cat. When she’s not working on Studio Lowen you can find her in the garden, out on the dunes with Soot or in the ocean.
